Your Best Days Are Not Behind You

Your best days are not behind you, sweet friend — and I want you to hold onto that truth today like it was written just for you, because I truly believe it was.

Can I be real with you for a moment?

There are days when it is so easy to look backward. To scroll through old memories and feel that quiet ache in your chest — the kind that whispers that the best parts of your life are already behind you. That the most meaningful moments have already come and gone. That somehow, without even realizing it, you missed your window.

I know that feeling. And I want you to know — it is a lie.

Not a harmless little lie, either. It is the kind of lie that steals your joy for today and your hope for tomorrow. And sweet friend, you are too precious, too loved, and too purposed to let that lie win.

So today, let’s sit together for a few minutes — you and me — and talk about why your story is far from over. Because I believe with everything in me that the next chapter God is writing for you just might be your absolute favorite one yet.

1. God Made You a Promise — and He Has Never Broken One Yet

Open your Bible to Jeremiah 29:11 and read it slowly today. Read it like it was written with your name at the top of the page — because it was.

“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11, NIV{rel=”dofollow”})

Hope and a future. Both of those words are present tense promises. Not hope for what was. Not a future that already passed. God spoke those words over your life, and they are still standing today — every single one of them.

Here is what I love most about this verse. God did not say He knows the plans He had for you. He said He knows the plans He has. Right now. Today. For the season you are walking through this very moment.

Sweet friend, a God who makes promises does not forget to keep them. And He has not forgotten you.

2. There Are Blessings Ahead That You Cannot Even Imagine Yet

I want you to think about something for a moment. Think about the friendships that mean the most to you right now — the people who make you laugh until your sides hurt, the ones who show up when life gets hard. Did you know, years ago, that those people were coming?

Probably not. You couldn’t have imagined them.

That is exactly how God works.

He does not show us the whole picture all at once because if He did, we would try to rush ahead and miss the beauty of the journey. He reveals it slowly, tenderly, in His perfect timing — and what He is preparing for you ahead is something your heart has not even dared to dream yet.

There are people you haven’t met yet who will love you deeply. There are moments of joy ahead that will catch you so completely off guard that you will have to sit down and just breathe them in. There are answered prayers coming that you have almost given up on — and sweet friend, God has not given up on a single one of them.

1 Corinthians 2:9 says that no eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no human mind has conceived the things God has prepared for those who love Him. (1 Corinthians 2:9, NIV{rel=”dofollow”})

Let that sink in today. The good that is coming is beyond what you can even picture. Your best days are not behind you — they are still being prepared.

3. Every Season of Life Holds a Gift Only That Season Can Give

Here is something the world does not tell you enough — every single season of your life carries something precious and irreplaceable that only that season can offer. And the season you are in right now is no exception.

Maybe you are in a quiet season and it feels a little lonely. But quiet seasons are where God does some of His most powerful, most intimate work in our hearts. He whispers things in the quiet that we could never hear in the noise.

Maybe you are in a season of waiting and it feels like nothing is moving. But waiting seasons are where faith gets strong. They are where roots grow deep enough to hold you when the storms come.

Maybe you are in a season of starting over — and sweet friend, starting over is one of the bravest, most beautiful things a person can do. It means you still believe something good is possible. And you are right.

Whatever season you find yourself in today, God did not accidentally place you there. He is doing something in you — and through you — that only this exact season can accomplish.

4. Your Story Has Always Been in the Best Possible Hands

I want to leave you with this today, because I think it might be the most important thing of all.

Your story — every messy, beautiful, heartbreaking, grace-filled page of it — has always been in the hands of the One who loves you most. And that is not going to change.

He was there in the chapters that hurt. He was there in the moments you felt completely alone. He was there on the days you could not find the words to even pray. And He is here now, turning the page with the gentlest hands, already knowing what the next paragraph holds.

Romans 8:28 reminds us that He works all things together for good for those who love Him. (Romans 8:28, NIV{rel=”dofollow”}) All things. Not just the easy ones. Not just the ones that made sense at the time. All of them.

Sweet friend, you are not an afterthought in God’s story. You are one of His most beloved characters — and He is not even close to done writing yours.

So today, I want to ask you to do one thing. Just one. Lift your eyes off the rearview mirror and look forward. Not with anxiety about what is ahead, but with the quiet, steady expectation of someone who knows her God — and knows that He is faithful.

Your best days are not behind you. Your story isn’t over. God is still writing it. And I cannot wait to see what He has planned for the next chapter of your beautiful life. 💜
