The Luck of the Irish Gift — Book Two — A novel by Marilyn L. Hart

She has a gift she never asked for. He has a heart he forgot how to trust. And God had a plan neither of them saw coming.
Sarah Mackenzie has spent her whole life learning to live with what she can feel — the emotions of everyone around her, bleeding through every handshake, every crowded room, every person who gets too close. Her family calls it a gift. The luck of the Irish. Most days it feels like a burden she carries alone.
When her Uncle Johnny sends her to Miami to quietly use her gift to identify a design thief inside a prestigious fashion house, Sarah expects a few weeks of careful observation and a quick trip home to Ohio. She brings her loyal rottweiler Bella, her constant companion and emotional anchor, and absolutely no intention of getting involved with anyone.
What she doesn’t expect is Nicco Kombi.
Passionate yet guarded, Nicco is the first man Sarah has ever met whose feelings nearly knock her off her feet the moment he walks into a room. As the two grow closer, Sarah finds herself caught between the mission she was sent to complete and a love she never saw coming — with a man whose family she has secretly been investigating all along.
When the truth finally comes out — all of it — Sarah must trust that the God who brought them together is able to hold them together. And Nicco must decide whether protecting his pride is worth losing the woman who changed everything.
Sarah’s Gift is a faith-centered romance story about courage, second chances, and the kind of love that finds you when you have stopped looking for it.
✝️ A NOTE FROM MY HEART
Sweet friend, Sarah’s story has been on my heart for a long time. I wanted to write about a woman who felt too much — who carried the weight of everyone else’s emotions and had learned to protect herself so carefully that she almost missed the one person God had sent just for her.
Maybe you know that feeling. Maybe you have spent so long protecting your heart that you forgot it was still capable of the very thing it was made for — love.
Sarah did not plan to fall in love in Miami. She did not plan to find a family that welcomed her like one of their own, or a man who made her heart go pitter-patter the moment he walked into a room. But God had a plan she never saw coming. He always does.
And sweet friend — He has one for you too. That sensitivity you carry, that gift of feeling deeply, that ability to walk into a room and know what others cannot see — that is not a burden. That is a blessing, placed inside you on purpose by a God who knew exactly what He was doing.
And like Sarah and Nicco, you may find that the very things you have been protecting yourself from are the very things God is using to lead you home.
I pray this story stirs your heart and reminds you that God’s gifts and God’s love are always given in love.
With love and faith always, Marilyn 🌿
