You are more loved than you know — sweet friend, you are more loved than you know and I need you to hear that today not as something you scroll past or nod at and keep moving but as something you let go all the way down into the deepest part of you where it can do what it was always meant to do. Because I believe with everything in me that God placed this message in front of you today on purpose. 💜
Can I ask you something honestly?
When was the last time you really felt loved? Not just appreciated or needed or useful — but genuinely, deeply, unconditionally loved exactly as you are right now in this moment with nothing added and nothing taken away?
For a lot of us that question takes a moment to answer. Because the truth is we live in a world that makes love feel like something you have to earn. Something you have to maintain. Something that can be withdrawn if you stop performing well enough or being enough or giving enough. And when you spend every single day swimming in that water it becomes almost impossible not to start measuring every relationship — including your relationship with God — by the same exhausting standard.
So we try harder. We do more. We quietly wonder if He is disappointed in us. We feel like we need to clean ourselves up before we come to Him. We carry a low hum of not-quite-enough that follows us through our days and colors everything we do.
Sweet friend, that is not who He is. And that is not how His love works. 💜
What God’s Love Actually Looks Like
“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” — Romans 8:38-39
Read that again slowly. Let every word land.
Neither death nor life. Neither the past nor the future. Neither height nor depth. Nor anything else in all of creation.
Nothing. Can separate you. From His love.
Not your worst day. Not your biggest mistake. Not the thing you are most ashamed of that you have never told another living soul. Not your longest dry season. Not the prayer you haven’t prayed, the chapter you haven’t read, the person you haven’t forgiven, the habit you haven’t broken. Not the version of yourself you are most disappointed in. Not the gap between who you are and who you thought you would be by now.
Nothing.
That love is not fragile. It is not fickle. It does not come and go based on your behavior or your consistency or your performance. It does not love you more on the days you have your quiet time and less on the days you don’t. It does not increase when you are kind and decrease when you are struggling. It does not waver when you doubt or stumble or fall flat on your face for what feels like the hundredth time.
It is steady. It is fierce. It is ancient and unshakeable and more vast than anything your mind can fully comprehend. And it has been pointed at you — specifically, personally, individually at you — since before you drew your first breath. 🌿
You are more loved than you know, sweet friend. So much more.
Why It Can Be So Hard To Believe You Are More Loved Than You Know
I want to talk about something that I think is really important and doesn’t get said enough.
Knowing that God loves you and actually feeling loved by God are two very different things. And the distance between those two things is where so many of us live.
We know the Sunday school answer. We can quote John 3:16. We nod along when someone says God loves us unconditionally. But somewhere between our heads and our hearts there is a gap. And in that gap lives all the old messages about not being enough. All the voices — some from childhood, some from relationships, some from our own inner critic — that told us love was conditional. That told us we were too much or not enough or too broken or too ordinary for the kind of love that doesn’t have a catch.
And those voices are loud. Sometimes they are louder than the truth. 🙏🏼
So we walk around carrying this quiet ache — this longing to be fully known and fully loved at the same time — while the very love we are searching for has been there all along, waiting for us to stop running long enough to receive it.
Because here is what I have learned about God’s love after all these years of walking with Him through the beautiful and the broken parts of my life — He doesn’t just love the version of you that has it all together. He doesn’t just love your highlight reel. He loves the whole of you. The parts you are proud of and the parts you hide. The dreams you are chasing and the failures you are still recovering from. The faith-filled moments and the doubt-filled ones. The woman you are becoming and the woman you are right now today.
All of you. He loves all of you. 💜
And you are more loved than you know for simply being you.
What Happens When You Finally Believe You Are More Loved Than You Know
Sweet friend I want to paint a picture for you of what becomes possible when you stop striving for God’s love and start receiving it.
When you truly believe you are more loved than you know you stop performing for God and start resting in Him. The exhausting treadmill of try harder, do more, be better slows down. And in its place comes something you may not have felt in a very long time — rest. The deep, soul-level rest that comes from knowing that His love for you is not dependent on your output. That you can come to Him tired and empty and undone and He will not love you any less. 🌿
When you truly believe you are more loved than you know you stop looking for that love in places that can never satisfy it. The endless scroll for validation. The relationships you hold onto too tightly because you are terrified of losing the love. The approval you seek from people who are just as broken and searching as you are. When you know — really know — that you are fully loved by the God who created you, the grip those things have on you loosens. Because you are no longer hungry for something you already have.
When you truly believe you are more loved than you know you become free to love others more generously. It is a beautiful paradox — the more securely loved you feel, the more freely you can love. You stop loving from a place of scarcity and start loving from a place of overflow. You give grace more easily. You forgive more readily. You show up for people with an open hand instead of a clenched fist. Because you are not protecting a love supply you are afraid of running out of. You are sharing from a love that never runs dry. 💜
And when you truly believe you are more loved than you know it changes how you talk to yourself on your hardest days. The voice that says “you are a failure” gets quieter. The “you should be further along by now” loses some of its power. The shame that has been following you around starts to lose its grip. Because you know — in the deepest part of you — that you are not defined by your worst moments. You are defined by whose you are. And you belong to a God who loves you more than you will ever fully understand. 🌸
How To Let God’s Love Reach The Deepest Parts Of You
So how do you get from knowing this in your head to feeling it in your heart? Here is what has helped me and what I believe will help you too.
Ask Him to make it real to you. This is a prayer He loves to answer. Simply say “God, I know in my head that You love me but I need to feel it. Make Your love real to me today.” And then watch for the ways He shows up — in the unexpected kindness of a stranger, in the lyrics of a song that lands at just the right moment, in the quiet peace that settles over you in the middle of a hard day. He is always speaking. We just have to slow down enough to listen. 🙏🏼
Spend time in the places in Scripture where His love is described most vividly. Romans 8. Psalm 139. Zephaniah 3:17 where it says He rejoices over you with singing. John 15 where Jesus calls you His friend. Read them slowly. Read them out loud if you can. Let the words do their work in the deep places.
Notice and name the ways He has already loved you. Think back over your life and look for the fingerprints of His love. The times He provided when you didn’t know how things would work out. The relationships He brought into your life at exactly the right moment. The doors He closed that felt like rejection but turned out to be protection. The fact that you are still here, still standing, still breathing — that is love. 🌿
Speak it out loud on the days it is hardest to believe. When the old voices get loud, speak truth louder. Say out loud — actually say it, with your actual voice — “I am more loved than I know. Nothing can separate me from God’s love. I am enough because He says I am enough.” Speak it until your heart starts to catch up with what your mouth is saying. Because it will. It always does. 💜
And let yourself be loved imperfectly through imperfect people. God often delivers His love to us through human hands and human voices. Let yourself receive it. Let a friend encourage you without deflecting it. Let someone speak well of you without immediately correcting them. Let yourself be cared for. You are worthy of being loved well by the people around you too.
Nothing Will Ever Change How Much He Loves You
Sweet friend, I want to close with this today and I want you to read it slowly.
You are more loved than you know. Not the polished version of you. Not the future version of you who has everything figured out. Not the version of you that shows up perfectly put together with the right answers and the unwavering faith.
You. Right now. Today. In this moment. With everything you are carrying and everything you are struggling with and everything you wish you could change about yourself.
You are fully known. And you are fully loved. At the same time. By the same God. Without condition and without end.
Nothing you have done has made Him love you less. Nothing you could do would make Him love you more. You are simply loved. Completely. Unconditionally. Forever.
And you are so much more loved than you know. 💜
