You Are Exactly Where You Need To Be — Faith Encouragement for Women

Sweet friend, come sit with me today.

I want to ask you something and I want you to really sit with it before you answer.

When you look at your life right now — honestly, really look at it — does it look the way you thought it would? Does it match the picture you had in your head of where you would be by this point? Does it feel like you are moving in the right direction, at the right pace, toward the right things?

Or does it feel a little more like you took a wrong turn somewhere and you’re not quite sure how to get back on the road you were supposed to be on?

Sweet friend, if it’s the second one — if you’re sitting in a season of life that feels uncertain and messy and not at all what you planned — I want you to stay with me today. Because I have something I really need you to hear.

You are exactly where you need to be. 💛

Not necessarily where you want to be. Not where you thought you’d be. But exactly — precisely — where God has you. And those two things are not the same as being lost. Not even a little bit.

Pour something warm, settle in, and let’s talk about this together. 🌿

The Difference Between Lost and Led

There is a distinction I want to draw today that I think is going to change the way you see your season.

There is a profound difference between being lost and being led.

Lost means no one knows where you are. Lost means you’ve wandered off somewhere outside the reach of the map, outside the range of the signal, outside the awareness of anyone who could find you and bring you home. Lost means abandoned. Forgotten. Off the radar entirely.

But led — sweet friend, led is something completely different.

Led means someone who knows exactly where they are going has you by the hand and is walking with you. Led means the path you’re on — even the unfamiliar one, even the longer one, even the one you didn’t choose — is being navigated by Someone who can see every step ahead of you even when you can’t see past today.

Led means you are not wandering. You are being directed. 🌿

And that is exactly what is happening in your life right now. Even in the uncertainty. Even in the mess. Even in the season that makes absolutely no sense to you from where you’re standing.

You are not lost, sweet friend. You are led.

“The Lord makes firm the steps of the one who delights in him; though he may stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with his hand.” — Psalm 37:23-24

He makes firm your steps. Your steps — the uncertain ones, the slow ones, the ones that have taken you somewhere unexpected. He upholds you with His hand. And a hand that is holding you is not a hand that has lost track of you.

When the Plan Falls Apart

Let’s talk about something real for a minute.

Most of us had a plan. Maybe it was a detailed, written-out, carefully constructed plan. Maybe it was more of a general sense — a picture in our heads of how things were supposed to go, a rough timeline of where we’d be and what we’d have figured out by now.

And then life happened.

The relationship didn’t work out. The job disappeared. The health took a turn. The dream got delayed. The thing you were so sure was going to happen… didn’t. And the thing you never expected… did. And suddenly the neat, sensible, logical path you thought you were on has given way to something that looks a lot more like a winding dirt road through unfamiliar territory.

And standing in the middle of that unfamiliar territory, it is so easy — so completely natural and human — to conclude that something went wrong. That you missed something. That God must have looked away for a moment and the plan got derailed and now everything is off course and needs to be fixed.

But sweet friend — what if nothing went wrong? 💛

What if the winding road is the plan? What if the detour you didn’t ask for is actually God’s most intentional routing? What if He is not scrambling to fix a mistake but rather quietly, faithfully, purposefully leading you somewhere that your original plan could never have taken you?

I think about Joseph in the Bible. His story is one of the most dramatic illustrations of this truth that has ever been written. Sold into slavery by his own brothers. Falsely accused. Thrown into prison. Years and years of circumstances that looked — from every possible angle — like things had gone terribly, completely wrong.

And yet.

Every single one of those painful, confusing, not-what-he-planned detours was leading him directly to the place where God would use him to save an entire nation. Not despite the hard path. Because of it.

“You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done.” — Genesis 50:20

What looked like a derailed plan was the most perfectly executed plan imaginable. What looked like abandonment was the most intricate and loving guidance. What looked like the worst possible road was the only road that led to everything God had prepared.

Sweet friend, your story is still being written. And the chapter you are in right now — the confusing, messy, not-what-you-planned one — is not the end. It is the middle. And middles always look different before you can see how they connect to what comes next. 🌿

The GPS That Never Gives Up

I love this illustration and I think about it often when I am in a season of uncertainty.

Think about your GPS for a moment.

You’re driving somewhere new. You miss a turn — maybe because you were distracted, maybe because the road looked different than you expected, maybe just because you were going too fast and you didn’t see it in time. And for a moment everything feels wrong. You’re off course. You’re not where you’re supposed to be. You’ve gone the wrong way and now you don’t know how to fix it.

But what does the GPS do?

It doesn’t shut down. It doesn’t give up on you. It doesn’t say well, you missed your turn so you’re on your own now — good luck finding your way home. It doesn’t express disappointment or frustration or impatience with you for missing the turn it already told you to take.

It simply says — recalculating. 💛

And then, calmly and faithfully, it finds you a new route. A different way to get where you’re going. Sometimes a longer way. Sometimes an unexpected way. Sometimes — surprisingly — an even better way than the one you were originally on.

God never stops recalculating for you, sweet friend.

He is not thrown off by the turns you missed. He is not frustrated by the detours your life has taken. He is not looking at the mess of your current season and trying to figure out how to salvage something from the wreckage.

He already knows the new route. He already sees how this road connects to everything He has planned. He is already — calmly, faithfully, lovingly — guiding you there.

You are not lost. You are being recalculated toward something good. 🌿

“In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.” — Proverbs 16:9

His Timing Is Not Your Timeline

Sweet friend, can I speak to something that I think might be at the root of a lot of the uncertainty you’re feeling right now?

I think a big part of why we feel off course is not actually about the direction we’re going — it’s about the speed. We’re not really worried that God has the wrong destination in mind. We’re worried that we’re getting there too slowly. That too much time has passed. That we are behind some invisible schedule that everyone else seems to be keeping except us.

We look around at the people we went to school with, the friends we grew up alongside, the women we follow online — and we compare. We measure. We add up the years and the milestones and the places we thought we’d be by now, and we come up feeling behind. Like the clock is ticking and we are losing time and we need to catch up.

Can I gently but clearly say something to that feeling today?

God does not work on your timeline. And that is the best possible news. 💛

Because your timeline was built on limited information. Your timeline only knew what you knew at the time. It couldn’t account for the growth you needed, the healing that had to happen first, the people who weren’t in your life yet, the doors that needed to close before the right ones could open.

But God’s timeline? It accounts for all of it. Every single variable. Every piece of the puzzle. Every person and circumstance and season that needs to align before what He has prepared for you can fully come together.

His timing is not late, sweet friend. His timing is not early. His timing is — always, without exception, even when it doesn’t feel that way — perfect.

“He has made everything beautiful in its time.” — Ecclesiastes 3:11

Everything beautiful in its time. Not in your time. Not on your schedule. In His time — which is the only time that produces something truly, completely, lastingly beautiful.

Your season is coming. And it is going to be worth every day of the wait. 🌸

What To Do While You’re Waiting For It To Make Sense

I know that trusting God’s timing and trusting that you’re exactly where you need to be is easier said than done. So let me share a few practical things that have helped me stay anchored in uncertain seasons.

Stay in the Word. When we don’t know where we’re going, scripture is our map. Not to find a magical verse that tells us exactly what to do next — but to be reminded over and over again of who God is, how He works, and what He has promised. That anchoring is everything in an uncertain season. ☀️

Pray honestly. Not the polished, cleaned-up version of prayer. The honest kind — God, I don’t understand this. I don’t like this. I’m scared and confused and I need you to help me trust you. He can handle your honesty. In fact He welcomes it. And there is something profoundly settling about bringing your real, unfiltered heart to Him and trusting Him with it.

Look for the lesson in the season. Every season we walk through — even the hard, confusing, not-what-we-planned ones — has something to teach us. Something God is growing in us that we couldn’t have grown any other way. Ask Him gently — what are you doing in me right now? What do you want me to learn here? And then stay open to the answer. 🌿

Stop comparing your chapter to someone else’s. This one is so important, sweet friend. Your story is your story. It is not supposed to look like anyone else’s. The timeline that is right for them is not necessarily the timeline that is right for you. Stay in your own lane and trust that God is writing your story with just as much love and intention as He is writing theirs.

Find gratitude in the right now. Even in the uncertain seasons there are blessings present. Look for them. Name them. Thank God for them. Gratitude has a way of shifting our perspective from what is missing to what is already here — and what is already here is always more than we realize. 💛

Hold onto hope. Not the fragile, fingers-crossed kind of hope. The deep, rooted, anchored-in-God kind. The hope that says — I don’t know how this is going to work out, but I know who is working it out. And that is enough. Because sweet friend — it really is enough.

“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” — Jeremiah 29:11

A Word For The Woman Who Is Tired of Waiting

Sweet friend, I want to speak directly to you for a moment — the woman who has been trusting and waiting and believing for so long that she is just… tired.

Tired of not knowing. Tired of the uncertainty. Tired of watching the months pass and the prayers feel unanswered and the situation look exactly the same as it did a year ago. Tired of being asked how are things going and having to smile and say still waiting when what you really want to say is I don’t know how much longer I can do this.

I see you, sweet friend. And I want you to know — your exhaustion is not a lack of faith. Your weariness is not weakness. It is the very human, completely understandable response to a long and difficult wait. And God is not disappointed in you for it.

He meets you right there in the tired place. He does not ask you to manufacture energy or enthusiasm you don’t have. He does not require you to perform faith for His benefit.

He just asks you to hold on. One more day. One more prayer. One more step in the direction He is leading even when you can’t see where it’s going.

“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” — Galatians 6:9

At the proper time. His proper time. And it is coming, sweet friend. It is coming. 💛

You Are Exactly Where You Need To Be

Before I let you go today, I want to bring us back to where we started.

You are exactly where you need to be.

Not because everything is perfect. Not because the path makes complete sense. Not because you have all the answers or the uncertainty has lifted or the messy season has resolved itself into something neat and tidy.

But because the God who created you, who knows you completely, who loves you more deeply than you can possibly comprehend — that God has you. He has your hand. He has your steps. He has your story.

And He does not lose things He is holding. 💛

The season you are in right now is not a mistake. It is not a detour from His plan — it is His plan. The beautiful, carefully designed, deeply intentional plan of a Father who can see the whole picture when you can only see the page you’re on.

Trust Him with the page you’re on, sweet friend. Stay in it fully. Learn from it completely. And hold onto the unshakeable truth that the God who began a good work in you has never — not for one single moment — lost His grip on where He is taking you.

You are not lost. You are led. 🌿

And the path ahead? Oh sweet friend — it is more beautiful than you can imagine. 💛✨

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” — Proverbs 3:5-6
