May Your Day Bring More Smiles Than Worries

Sweet friend, I’m so glad you’re here, because I truly believe you were meant to find this today. If your heart has been carrying a lot lately, I want you to know that more smiles than worries isn’t just a pretty wish. It’s a prayer I’m lifting up for you this very minute.

Pull up a chair, grab your favorite cup of coffee or tea, and let’s sit and visit for a bit.

Why More Smiles Than Worries Is a Prayer Worth Praying

Have you ever noticed how worries can pile up quietly? One small concern turns into three, and before you know it, you’re carrying a whole basket of “what ifs” around all day. I’ve been there, and I’m guessing you have too.

That’s why I love the thought of a day filled with more smiles than worries. It doesn’t mean life will be perfect or that hard things won’t come. It means that when they do, you have a little more light in your basket than darkness. God never asked you to carry it all by yourself. He asked you to trust Him with it.

Finding More Smiles Than Worries When Life Feels Heavy

On the heavy days, it’s easy to believe there’s nothing to smile about. But look closely, sweet friend. Look at a rustic old watering can, a little worn and weathered, yet overflowing with sunflowers and daisies and lavender. It has been through some weather, hasn’t it? And still, it holds something beautiful.

That’s you. 💜

You may feel a little weathered by life, but God keeps filling you with beauty, with purpose and with love. And just like a bluebird landing on the edge of that watering can, little blessings show up when we least expect them. A butterfly drifts by. The sun comes out. Someone you love picks up the phone.

Scripture reminds us, “Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.” (Psalm 30:5) Joy is coming, sweet friend, and sometimes it’s already sitting right beside you.

Five Gentle Ways to Invite More Smiles Than Worries

Here are a few little things you can try today. None of them cost a thing.

  1. Start with gratitude. Name three things you’re thankful for before your feet even touch the floor.
  2. Step outside for five minutes. Fresh air, sunshine and a little birdsong do wonders for a tired heart.
  3. Hand your worry to God. Say it out loud: “Lord, this one is Yours.” Then try to let it go.
  4. Call someone who makes you laugh. Laughter really is a gift, so don’t be shy about asking for it.
  5. Do one small kind thing. Smiles multiply when we share them.

Letting Laughter Heal: More Smiles Than Worries

Do you remember the last time you laughed so hard your stomach hurt? Maybe it was with a friend, a grandchild or a silly moment that nobody else would understand. Wasn’t it wonderful?

The Bible says, “A merry heart doeth good like a medicine.” (Proverbs 17:22) I believe that with my whole heart. Laughter loosens the knots in our shoulders and reminds us that life is such a gift. Please don’t ever feel guilty for enjoying joy, even when things are hard. Joy isn’t a sign you’re ignoring your troubles. It’s a sign you’re trusting God through them.
