Don’t stop now — your breakthrough may be right ahead.
Can I be honest with you for a minute?
There are days when keeping the faith feels easy. The sun is shining, the prayers feel answered, life feels light and full of possibility, and trusting God feels as natural as breathing. Those are beautiful days, and I am so grateful for every single one of them.
But then there are the other days.
The days when you’ve been waiting so long for something that you’ve started to wonder if it’s ever really going to happen. The days when you’ve prayed the same prayer so many times that the words almost feel hollow — not because you’ve lost faith, but because you’re just so tired. The days when everyone around you seems to be moving forward and you feel like you’re standing still, wondering what in the world God is doing and why it’s taking so long.
Sweet friend, if that’s where you are today — this post is for you.
The Hardest Part of Faith Is the Waiting
Nobody really talks about how hard the middle is.
We love the beginning of a faith story — the moment someone makes a decision, steps out in trust, plants a seed and believes for something they can’t yet see. And we love the ending — the breakthrough, the answered prayer, the moment when it all comes together and you can look back and see exactly how God was working the whole time.
But the middle? The middle is where most people quietly give up.
And I understand why. The middle is long. The middle is uncertain. The middle is full of moments where nothing seems to be happening, where you’re doing everything right and still not seeing the results, where you’re trusting and praying and holding on and wondering if you missed something somewhere along the way.
But here’s what I want you to understand today, with every part of my heart:
The middle is not the end of your story.
What Happens Just Before a Breakthrough
Have you ever heard the story of the Chinese bamboo tree?
You plant the seed and you water it. And for the first year — nothing. You water it again. Still nothing. Year two, year three, year four — you keep watering, keep tending, keep believing something is happening even though you can’t see a single thing above the ground.
And then in year five? The Chinese bamboo tree grows ninety feet in just six weeks.
Ninety feet. Six weeks.
But here’s the thing — it wasn’t really growing in year five. It was growing all along, deep underground, building a root system strong enough to support everything that was about to happen. If you had stopped watering it in year three because you couldn’t see anything, you would have lost the whole tree.
Sweet friend, I think about that story every time I’m in a season of waiting. Because I believe that is exactly what God does in our lives.
While we’re standing there wondering why nothing is changing, He is doing the deep work. The quiet work. The work that doesn’t make the highlight reel but makes everything else possible. He is growing your roots. He is preparing the ground. He is setting things in motion that you cannot yet see.
Don’t stop watering the seed.
The Moment You Want to Quit Is Often Right Before Everything Changes
I’ve lived long enough to know that this is true — and maybe you have too.
Think back over your own life for a moment. Can you remember a time when you were right on the edge of giving up on something — a dream, a relationship, a prayer, a new beginning — and then suddenly, almost out of nowhere, things shifted? The door opened. The call came. The piece fell into place. The answer finally arrived.
What if you had quit the day before?
I truly believe that the enemy of our souls knows exactly when we are closest to our breakthrough. And that is precisely when he turns up the pressure. That is when the doubt gets louder. That is when the waiting feels the longest. That is when the voice whispers “nothing is ever going to change, you might as well give up.”
Don’t you listen to that voice, sweet friend.
Because that voice? It’s afraid of what happens if you keep going.
God Is Working in the Waiting
Here is the truth I come back to again and again when I’m in a hard season:
God is never late. He is never early. He is always — always — right on time.
His timing doesn’t always match our calendar. His ways don’t always make sense to our human minds. But His track record? His track record is perfect.
He brought water from a rock in the desert. He made a way through the Red Sea when there was no way. He brought life out of a tomb on a Sunday morning when every single person watching had given up hope.
If He could do that — sweet friend, He can handle whatever you are carrying today.
Your situation is not too hard for Him. Your waiting season is not a mistake. Your unanswered prayer has not been forgotten. He sees you. He hears you. And He is working — even right now, in this very moment — in ways you cannot yet see.
Keep going. Keep trusting. Keep believing.
A Little Pep Talk for Your Heart
I want to speak directly to the part of you that is tired today. The part that has been holding on for a long time and is starting to wonder if it’s worth it.
It is worth it.
You are worth it.
Your dream is worth fighting for. Your healing is worth praying for. Your family is worth believing for. Your peace, your joy, your breakthrough — they are all worth every single day of faithful, persistent, sometimes-tearful trust.
And here is what I need you to do today:
Take one more step. That’s all. Just one more step forward. You don’t have to see the whole staircase — just take the next step. Pray the prayer one more time. Choose trust one more time. Get up and try one more time.
Because sweet friend — you are closer than you think.
Your breakthrough may be right on the other side of the very thing that is trying to make you quit today. Don’t you dare stop now. 💜
Before You Go
I write these little blog posts because I believe in the power of encouragement. I believe that sometimes all it takes is one person saying “I see you, keep going” to give someone the strength to take the next step.
So if today’s post spoke to your heart, would you share it with someone who might need it? You never know whose day — or whose faith — you might be saving with one simple share.
And if you’re walking through something hard right now, I’d love to know. Leave a comment below and let’s believe together. You were never meant to carry this alone. 🌸
