Good Books Worth Reading and the Unexpected Places Where Stories Come to Life 📚🚜

Good books worth reading have a way of finding you at exactly the right moment, don’t they, sweet friend? You walk into a bookstore — or maybe you’re scrolling late at night when the house is finally quiet — and something catches your eye. A cover. A title. A few words on the back that make you think, this one was meant for me.

That’s the kind of feeling I hope my books give you. Not just a story to pass the time, but one that stays with you long after you turn the last page.

So today, I want to do something fun. I want to take you on a little stroll through my bookshelf and introduce you to each of my four novels. Think of it like walking into your favorite bookstore together, you and me, and I’m telling you about each one over a cup of coffee. ☕

Good Books Worth Reading When You Need to Feel Something Real

📖 Keeping Promises To everyone but herself.

She was the one everyone counted on. The one who showed up, who held it all together, who never let a single person down — except the woman staring back at her in the mirror. If you’ve ever given so much of yourself that you forgot to save a little for you, this story is going to feel like coming home. It’s women’s fiction about learning that the most important promise you’ll ever keep is the one you make to yourself.

Good Books Worth Reading for the Mystery Lover

📖 I Saw The Signs I Just Ignored Them Four friends. A European cruise. A childhood game that could save their lives.

Four best girlfriends set sail to celebrate their 50th birthdays. Wine, laughter, and memories in the making. But when they start playing a silly game from their childhood, no one expects it to unravel something far more dangerous than any of them saw coming. This is a cozy mystery wrapped in friendship, adventure, and twists you won’t see coming. If you love a story that keeps you guessing, this one’s for you.

Good Books Worth Reading for the Romantic at Heart

📖 Johnny’s Gift (Book 1 — The Luck of The Irish Gift Series) He used his gift to save his soldiers’ lives, but could he use it to save his heart?

Johnny has a gift — one that’s saved lives on the battlefield. But when it comes to matters of the heart, he’s completely lost. This military romance will have you laughing, crying, and believing that love has a way of finding us right when we’ve stopped looking.

📖 Sarah’s Gift (Book 2 — The Luck of The Irish Gift Series) Sent to Miami to use her gift to find a thief, she never imagined she would find her heart instead.

Sarah’s got a mission — track down a thief in Miami using the gift that runs in her family. But Miami has plans of its own, and what she finds is so much bigger than what she came looking for. If you loved Johnny’s story, you’re going to fall head over heels for Sarah’s.

Good Books Worth Reading Start in Unexpected Places

Now, can I tell you something that might make you smile? Some of my very best scenes — the ones that made me race back to my computer — didn’t come to me at my desk. They came to me on a tractor. 😄

My parents had eight acres, and I loved helping my dad mow it. There was something about being out there — the sun on my face, the smell of fresh-cut grass, nothing but wide-open sky above me. Was it quiet? Not even close. That old mower was LOUD.

But here’s the thing — that’s exactly what made it so perfect. Something about the roar of that engine and the rhythm of going back and forth, row after row, gave my mind permission to just… wander. And if I was stuck on a scene — couldn’t figure out what a character would say or how to untangle a moment that just wasn’t working — that tractor ride almost always fixed it.

I’d be halfway through the yard and suddenly it would hit me. That’s what she would say. That’s what needs to happen next. And I could not get back to my computer fast enough.

I think God works like that sometimes, don’t you? He gives us those quiet spaces — even the loud ones that feel quiet inside — where our hearts and minds can finally settle. Where the answers come not because we forced them, but because we let go long enough to hear them.

“Be still, and know that I am God.”Psalm 46:10 (NIV){rel=”dofollow”}

What Helps You Think When You Feel Stuck?

I think we all have that thing, sweet friend. That one activity where your brain finally lets go and the answers just come.

Maybe for you it’s going for a long walk. Maybe it’s a drive with the windows down. Maybe it’s pulling weeds in the garden, folding laundry, or sitting on the porch with a cup of coffee and nothing but the birds to keep you company. Maybe it’s calling up your best friend and talking it out. Maybe it’s a hot bath and a quiet house.

Whatever it is — that space where you stop trying so hard and let God do the untangling — that’s sacred ground, friend. Don’t underestimate it.

I’d love to hear from you — what’s YOUR thing? When you’re stuck on a problem or trying to figure out your next move, what do you do to clear your head? Leave me a comment below. I’d love to know. 💕

And if you’re looking for a good book to curl up with after all that thinking, I’ve got four of them waiting for you. 😊
