Sweet Friend, God Knows Your Heart — And He Loves Every Single Part Of It
God knows your heart, sweet friend — and I need you to let that truth sink all the way in today because I have a feeling your soul has been aching for someone to really, truly see you.
Can I sit with you for a moment? Because I think you might be in a season right now where you feel invisible. Where the people around you only see the surface — the smile you put on, the strong face you wear, the “I’m fine” you say when someone asks how you are doing. And deep down, underneath all of that, there is a whole world inside of you that nobody seems to notice.
The prayers you whisper in the dark. The tears you cry in the shower so nobody hears. The weight you carry on your shoulders while you make it look easy. The love you pour out for everyone else while your own cup sits empty.
I see you, sweet friend. And more importantly — God sees you.
He does not just see the version of you that the world gets to meet. He sees the real you. The messy, the broken, the beautiful, the brave. He sees every hidden corner of your heart, every secret struggle, every unspoken fear. And He does not look away. Not even for a second.
God knows your heart. The one no one else can see. And what He finds there takes His breath away.
God Knows Your Heart — The Parts You Hide From Everyone Else
Here is something I need you to hear today, and I mean really hear it: you do not have to perform for God. You do not have to clean yourself up before you come to Him. You do not have to have the right words, the right attitude, or the right amount of faith before He will pay attention.
He already sees you. All of you. And He is not disappointed by what He finds.
The world might tell you to put on a brave face. The world might tell you to hold it together, to stop being so sensitive, to toughen up and move on. But God? God says come to Me exactly as you are.
“The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” — 1 Samuel 16:7
He is not looking at your resume. He is not looking at your social media feed. He is not looking at whether you have it all together on the outside. God knows your heart — and that is the only thing that has ever mattered to Him.
God Knows Your Heart — Even When Nobody Else Understands
Sweet friend, have you ever felt completely misunderstood? Have you ever poured your heart into something — a relationship, a conversation, a decision — and the people around you just could not see where you were coming from?
That is one of the loneliest feelings in the world. When your intentions are good but your efforts get twisted. When you are doing your absolute best and someone decides it is not enough. When you know your heart is in the right place but nobody seems to believe you.
Here is the truth that will set you free from that heartache: the opinion of someone who does not know your whole story does not get to define you.
God knows your heart. He knows your intentions when the world misreads them. He knows your motives when people question them. He knows the love behind every decision you have made — even the ones that did not turn out the way you planned.
And His opinion of you? It has never changed. Not once. Not ever.
God Knows Your Heart — He Sees Every Tear You Have Cried In Secret
Can we talk about the secret tears for a moment? Because I think there are a lot of us walking around carrying pain that nobody knows about.
Maybe you lost someone and the world expects you to be over it by now. Maybe your marriage is falling apart behind closed doors. Maybe you are struggling with something you are too ashamed to talk about. Maybe you smile through the day and fall apart the moment you are alone.
Sweet friend, God sees every single one of those tears. Not a single one has ever fallen without Him catching it.
“You have kept count of my tossings; put my tears in your bottle. Are they not in your book?” — Psalm 56:8
He does not just see them — He collects them. He counts them. He treasures them. Because every tear you cry tells Him something about the depth of your heart, and God knows your heart is made of something beautiful even when it is breaking.
You are not crying alone, sweet friend. You never have been.
God Knows Your Heart — And He Is Proud Of What He Sees
I think this might be the part that is hardest for some of us to believe. Because somewhere along the way, someone made you feel like you were not enough. Someone’s words or someone’s actions planted a seed of doubt in your heart that whispered, “If they really knew you, they would not love you.”
But God really knows you. He knows every thought, every fear, every insecurity, every flaw. He knows the things you have done that you wish you could take back. He knows the battles you fight inside your own mind every single day.
And He is still proud of you.
He is proud of the way you keep getting up every morning. He is proud of the way you love your people even when it is hard. He is proud of the way you hold onto faith when everything around you is shaking. He is proud of you on the days when all you can manage is just showing up — because showing up takes more courage than most people will ever understand.
God knows your heart, sweet friend. And He does not just tolerate what He finds there — He celebrates it.
God Knows Your Heart — So You Can Stop Trying To Prove It To The World
Here is the freedom I want you to walk away with today: you do not owe anyone an explanation for who you are.
You do not have to defend your heart to people who have already decided what they think of you. You do not have to justify your feelings to people who refuse to understand them. You do not have to shrink yourself down to make someone else more comfortable.
The God of the entire universe — the One who hung every star and named every sparrow — He knows your heart. And if He is not asking you to prove yourself, why are you letting anyone else make you feel like you need to?
“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” — Ephesians 2:10
You are His handiwork. His masterpiece. His carefully and lovingly crafted creation. And He did not make a single mistake when He made you.
So today, sweet friend, I want you to take a deep breath. Let go of the need to be understood by everyone. Let go of the exhausting work of performing for people who only see the surface. And rest — really rest — in the beautiful, unshakable truth that God knows your heart, He loves your heart, and that is more than enough.
You are seen. You are known. You are loved beyond anything you could ever imagine. And nothing — absolutely nothing — will ever change that.
