God Is Still Writing Your Story
God is still writing your story, sweet friend — and I want you to sit with that truth for a moment before you read another word, because today it is written just for you.
Can I be real with you for a moment?
There are days when it feels like you’ve landed on a page you never wanted to be on. A hard chapter. A quiet season. A page filled with waiting, or heartache, or a dream that hasn’t come true yet. And it is so easy, in those moments, to look down at that page and think it’s the end of the book.
I want you to know something today, friend to friend: it isn’t. It never was.
Whatever page you’re on right now — messy or beautiful, uncertain or still — it is not your ending. It is simply where the story is right now. And the One holding the pen has never once put it down.
So let’s sit together for a few minutes today and talk about why you can trust that the best chapters of your life are still ahead of you.
1. The Author Has Never Once Abandoned a Story
A good author doesn’t walk away in the middle of a chapter. And sweet friend, your Author never has, and never will.
“Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 1:6, NIV)
He began this story with you. Every hard page, every plot twist you never saw coming, every quiet chapter that felt like nothing was happening — He was there for all of it, and He is here now. A God who starts something always finishes it. You are not a story He forgot to finish. You are one He is still lovingly writing, one faithful page at a time.
2. This Page Is Not Your Whole Story
Sweet friend, I need you to hear this clearly: whatever is happening on today’s page is not the whole book.
If you only read one page of a novel, you’d never know how it ends. You wouldn’t know that the heartbreak in chapter three leads to the healing in chapter twelve. You wouldn’t know that the character who felt so lost on page eighty becomes the one who helps someone else find their way by page two hundred.
“Weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.” (Psalm 30:5, NIV)
Whatever chapter you’re in right now — grief, waiting, starting over — it is not the final word. It’s simply where the story is today. Keep turning the page, friend. There is so much more written for you than what you can see right now.
3. Every Chapter Is Shaping the One Who Comes Next
Here’s something I’ve come to believe with my whole heart: nothing in your story is wasted. Not the hard years. Not the mistakes. Not the seasons that felt like they’d never end.
“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” (Romans 8:28, NIV)
Every chapter — even the ones you wish you could tear out — is quietly shaping the woman you’re becoming. The compassion you carry now because of what you walked through. The strength you didn’t know you had until you needed it. The faith that grew roots in the dark. None of it was wasted ink. God has been writing purpose into every single page, even the ones that hurt.
4. The Best Chapters Are Still Being Written
I don’t know what you’ve stopped hoping for. Maybe it’s been so long that you’ve quietly closed the book on a dream. But sweet friend, God has not closed it.
“No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him.” (1 Corinthians 2:9, NIV)
There are chapters coming that you cannot even picture yet — moments of joy, answered prayers, people you haven’t met, doors you didn’t know existed. He is not finished. He is not even close to finished. The plot hasn’t resolved, the best scenes haven’t happened, and your Author is still very much at work.
5. You Get to Trust the One Holding the Pen
At the end of the day, sweet friend, this is what it comes down to: you don’t have to know how the story ends. You just have to trust who’s writing it.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.” (Proverbs 3:5, NIV)
You don’t have to have it all figured out today. You don’t have to rewrite the plot yourself or rush to the next chapter before it’s time. You simply get to rest in this — the same God who has carried you through every page so far is not going to drop the pen now. He loves this story too much. He loves you too much.
So today, take a breath. Let go of the page you’re stuck on. God is still writing, and I promise you, the page you’re on isn’t the ending. 💜
