The Chance To Do It Again: Could solving a 300-year-old-ghost story mystery change her future? by [Marilyn L. Hart]

Lyla is just seventeen when one moment changes her life forever. Now she is spending her senior year married, pregnant and lonely. Her husband is working at his grandfather's fruit market to support his new family instead of going off to college. During a difficult day, an Irish exchange student, Rowena, comes to her rescue and they soon become fast friends.

One of Rowena's favorite things to do is tell stories of her family's haunted castle back home in Ireland whose ghost knows how to please a woman. While Patrick and his younger brother, Matthew roll their eyes in disbelief, Lyla sits enthralled. Dreaming of what it would be like to meet a three-hundred-year-old ghost?

For the next twenty years, Patrick promises Lyla he will take her to Ireland to visit Rowena and see the castle. But when he becomes ill and passes away, Lyla is left to pick up the pieces of her shattered life. Two years later their daughter, Katie, is getting married in the ballroom of Rowena's castle. Deciding to go over early to spend time with her friend, a thought occurs to her, what if while there she was able to solve the mystery of how the ghost really died?

The moment her hand touches the castle walls, Lyla's world begins to shift. Is she losing her mind? Or is it possible she really is seeing the three-hundred-year-old ghost who looks just like her deceased husband? Are their lives somehow intertwined?

Natalie Erdman "Beautiful story
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It’s a beautiful story of timeless love. I’m an avid reader, and love when a good book captures my attention, and makes the world slip away. This book did just that. I just received another book by this author called “Johnny’s Gift”. I can’t wait to read it. I hope Marilyn Hart writes many more books!"

Chapter 1

They had been dating ever since her family had gotten transferred to Wright Patterson Air Force Base three years ago. She and her Mother had driven to town to go grocery shopping when her Mother had seen the fresh produce outside of Zimmermans Market and pulled in. She had sat in the car while her Mother had gone inside. A large white truck had pulled up and an older gentleman had gotten out from behind the wheel. Her mouth had fallen open when a young blonde-haired boy had come around from the other side of the truck to open the back tailgate. She knew he could not have been much older than her, but already he had the body of a man.
Mr. Zimmerman saw the young lady sitting in the car staring at his grandson and smiled. Looks like Patrick had another admirer. Not that the boy would notice, he thought shaking his head. He was too dang shy.
The next week when she and her Mother had gone grocery shopping, her Mother nearly wrecked the car when she yelled at her they needed to stop at Zimmerman’s market again. It wasn’t until they were inside the store and her Mother saw the young man behind the counter that she knew the reason for her daughter wanting to stop in. Ah, to be young again she thought as she watched her daughter try to act nonchalant as she walked down the aisle. Trying not to act too obvious herself she walked down another aisle glancing up to see if the young man had noticed her daughter. It took everything she had not to laugh out loud when she saw the young man gape at her daughter but quickly look away when Lyla turned back to look at him.
She nearly jumped out of her skin when she heard a male voice, with a strong southern accent just like her husband’s say, “It appears my grandson and your daughter have taken a shine to one another.”

    1. Thank you very much for commenting. I truly enjoyed writing this book.

What would you do if you could see a 300-year-old ghost? Would you think your crazy, or would you try to find out why only you can see him?

I hope you get a chance to read the book and let me know what you think.

      Have a wonderful day!

      Sincerely,
