Call Someone You Love Today
When you call someone you love today, you might just change their whole day — and yours too.
You know exactly who I’m talking about, sweet friend.
That name. That face. That woman who just popped right into your heart the second you started reading this. Maybe she’s been sitting quietly in the back of your mind for days now. Maybe you saw something this morning that made you think of her and smile. Maybe you can’t even explain why she keeps crossing your thoughts — she just does.
That’s not a coincidence.
Why You Need to Call Someone You Love Today
Here’s what I want you to hear, and I want you to really let it sink in: you don’t need a reason to reach out.
You don’t need to have big news. You don’t need to have the perfect words. You don’t need to set aside an entire hour for a long conversation. You just need to pick up the phone.
Tell her she crossed your mind. Ask her how she’s really doing — not the surface-level “I’m fine” kind of doing, but the real, honest, soul-deep kind. Laugh about something ridiculous that happened twenty years ago. Let her hear your voice and know that she matters to you — not because something happened, but simply because she’s her.
That’s it. That’s enough. That’s everything.
Stop Waiting for the Perfect Time to Call Someone You Love
Can I be honest with you for a moment?
We are so good at putting things off. Not because we don’t care — you and I both know that’s not the reason. We put it off because life is loud and busy and relentless, and we keep telling ourselves the same story:
I’ll call her when things slow down.
I’ll reach out when I have more time.
I’ll remember tomorrow.
But sweet friend, tomorrow has a way of turning into next week. And next week has a way of turning into next month. And before you know it, months have passed and that little nudge you felt in your heart has been buried under a pile of to-do lists and obligations.
Don’t let that happen.
The truth is, there is no perfect time. There is only right now. And a two-minute phone call — just two minutes of your voice saying, “Hey, I was thinking about you” — can fill someone’s entire day with light.
We Always Think We Have More Time to Call Someone You Love
This is the part that’s hard to say, but I think you need to hear it.
We always think we have more time.
More time to visit. More time to say thank you. More time to say I’m sorry. More time to say I love you. More time to sit across from someone over coffee and just be together.
But time doesn’t wait for us to be ready. It doesn’t pause while we get our schedules figured out. It doesn’t give us a warning when a chapter is about to close.
And the people God has placed in your life? They are here right now. Not later. Not someday. Now.
Every single person in your life is a gift. And gifts are meant to be treasured — not set on a shelf and gotten to later.
When God Puts Someone on Your Heart, Call Someone You Love
Sometimes you’ll be going about your day — washing dishes, driving to the store, folding laundry — and someone will just land on your heart out of nowhere.
That’s not random, sweet friend. That’s God.
That quiet nudge, that gentle whisper in your spirit, that feeling of “I should really call her” — that is God placing someone on your heart for a reason. Maybe she’s going through something hard and needs to hear a familiar voice. Maybe she’s lonely and doesn’t know how to say it. Maybe she’s celebrating something wonderful and doesn’t have anyone to share it with.
You might never know the reason. But you don’t need to know the reason to answer the call.
📖 1 Thessalonians 5:11{rel=”dofollow”} reminds us: “Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.”
That’s your calling today. Not next week. Not when it’s convenient. Today.
Your Reminder to Call Someone You Love Right Now
So here’s what I want you to do.
Close your eyes for just a second. Let a name come to mind. Don’t overthink it — the first person your heart whispers is probably exactly who God wants you to reach out to.
Now pick up the phone.
Don’t text — call. Let her hear your voice. Let her know she’s not forgotten. Let her feel, even for a few short minutes, that she is loved and thought about and that her presence in this world matters more than she knows.
Because it does. And so do you.
