“Gods grace is new every morning — sweet friend, gods grace is new every morning and I need you to really let those words land in your heart today before you read another word. Whatever yesterday looked like, whatever you are carrying, whatever you wish you could take back — you woke up today to a brand new supply of mercy that has nothing to do with what you deserved and everything to do with who He is.” 💜

Are you still carrying yesterday?

Maybe it was something you said that you wish with everything in you that you could take back. A decision you made that didn’t turn out the way you hoped. A moment where you fell short of who you know you are called to be. A whole season that went sideways and somehow you are still dragging the weight of it into every new day like a heavy bag you just cannot figure out how to put down.

Or maybe it isn’t one big thing. Maybe it is just the slow accumulation of small regrets and quiet disappointments and moments where you looked in the mirror and thought “I should be doing better than this by now.”

Sweet friend, you can put it all down today. 💜

Because here is the most beautiful, most life-changing truth I know — yesterday’s mistakes do not define today’s possibilities. And God’s grace is the proof.

Gods Grace Is New Every Morning — What That Really Means

“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.”Lamentations 3:22-23

I want you to sit with those words for a moment. Really sit with them.

His mercies never come to an end. They are not running low because of how many times you have needed them. They are not rationed out based on your performance or your consistency or how many times you have asked for the same thing. They are not withheld because you keep struggling with the same area over and over again or because you feel like you should have conquered this by now.

They are new every morning.

That word new is so important. Not recycled grace. Not leftover grace from someone who didn’t use all of theirs. Fresh, brand new, just for you grace — waiting on the doorstep of every single morning like a gift that was placed there while you were sleeping. 🌿

And here is what I love most about this verse — it wasn’t written by someone who had it all together. Lamentations was written in the middle of devastation. In the middle of loss and grief and circumstances that felt completely hopeless. And right in the middle of all of that pain, the writer stopped and said “But this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope.”

Hope. In the middle of the hardest season. Because God’s grace is new every morning — and that truth doesn’t change based on how our circumstances feel.

Why You Need To Receive God’s Grace Every Morning

I think one of the greatest battles we face as women of faith is not the battle for God’s grace — He has already freely given it. The battle is receiving it. Actually opening our hands and taking what He is offering instead of walking past it to pick yesterday back up.

Because here is what I have noticed in my own life. On the mornings when I wake up and immediately start rehearsing what went wrong yesterday, cataloging my failures, replaying the conversation I wish I had handled differently — I walk into my day already heavy. Already defeated before the day has even really begun.

But on the mornings when I wake up and whisper “God, Your mercies are new today. Thank You. I receive Your grace” — something shifts. Not always in my circumstances. But in me. A lightness replaces the heaviness. A quiet settles over the noise in my head. A sense of being held and loved and given a fresh start that has nothing to do with what I deserved and everything to do with who He is. 🙏🏼

That is what God’s grace does. It doesn’t just forgive yesterday. It empowers today.

And sweet friend, it is available to you right now. This morning. Whatever yesterday looked like. However many times you have needed grace this week, this month, this year — there is more. There is always more. Because God’s grace is new every morning and it never runs out. 💜

What Happens When You Stop Carrying Yesterday

I want to talk about what becomes possible in your life when you actually receive God’s grace every morning instead of picking yesterday back up.

When you stop carrying yesterday’s mistakes you have room to be fully present today. You stop going through the motions of today while your mind is stuck in the replay of yesterday. You show up — really show up — for the people in front of you, the opportunities around you, the small and beautiful moments that would otherwise slip by unnoticed because you were too weighted down to see them. 🌿

When you stop carrying yesterday’s guilt you have room to grow. Guilt that lingers past the point of repentance doesn’t make you a better person — it just makes you a tired one. God’s grace doesn’t just cover your mistakes, it creates space for genuine growth. For learning. For becoming the person He created you to be without the constant weight of who you were yesterday dragging you back.

When you stop carrying yesterday’s shame you have room to be loved. Shame tells you that you are the mistake — that you are too far gone, too broken, too much of a mess for God to really use. But grace tells the truth: you are not your worst moment. You are not the sum of your failures. You are a beloved child of God who woke up this morning to a brand new supply of mercy and a Father who cannot wait to see what you do with today. 💜

And when you stop carrying yesterday’s disappointments you have room to hope again. Hope for today. Hope for tomorrow. Hope that the God who was faithful yesterday — even in the mess of it — is going to be faithful again today. Because He always is. Every single morning, without exception.

“Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for His compassions fail not.”Lamentations 3:22

How To Receive God’s Grace Is New Every Morning In Your Daily Life

So how do you actually do this? How do you receive God’s grace every morning instead of defaulting back to yesterday? Here are the things that have helped me most. 🌸

Start your morning with surrender before you start it with scrolling. Before you pick up your phone, before you check your email, before the noise of the world rushes in — take just two or three minutes to sit quietly and say “God, Your mercies are new today. I receive Your grace. Yesterday is finished and I am starting fresh.” It sounds simple because it is simple. And it is one of the most powerful things you can do to set the tone for your entire day.

Speak truth to the shame when it shows up. Because it will show up. The enemy loves to remind you of yesterday, last week, last year, a decade ago — anything to keep you from walking in the freedom of today’s grace. When those voices start, speak back to them out loud. “His mercies are new every morning. I am forgiven. I am starting fresh. Yesterday does not define today.” Speak it until your heart catches up with what your mouth is saying. 🙏🏼

Practice forgiving yourself the way God forgives you. We are often so much harder on ourselves than God is on us. If He — who sees everything, who knows every thought and every motive and every detail of every moment — has extended grace and called it new every morning, who are we to hold ourselves to a harsher standard than He does? Receive the forgiveness He has already given. Let it be enough. Because it is. 🌿

Write down one thing you are grateful for before you write down anything else. Gratitude is one of the fastest ways to shift your perspective from yesterday’s weight to today’s gifts. Even on the hardest mornings there is something — the coffee in your hand, the sun coming through the window, the fact that you woke up at all. Start there. And let gratitude open your heart to the grace that is already waiting.

And come back to this truth every single day — God’s grace is new every morning. Not just on the good days. Not just when you feel like you deserve it. Every morning. Including this one. Including tomorrow. Including every morning for the rest of your beautiful, grace-covered life. 💜

God’s Grace Is New Every Morning — And That Includes Yours

Sweet friend, I want to close with this today.

Yesterday is done. It is finished. Nothing you do today can change what happened yesterday — but everything you receive today can change what happens tomorrow. And what God is offering you today, right now, in this very moment, is grace. Fresh. New. Unconditional. Enough for everything you are facing. Enough for every mistake. Enough for every shortcoming. Enough for every hard thing still ahead.

God’s grace is new every morning. His mercies never come to an end. And His faithfulness — the faithfulness that placed new mercy on your doorstep while you were sleeping last night — is great.

So take a deep breath, sweet friend. Let yesterday go. Open your hands. And receive what He has already placed there for you today.

It is new. It is yours. And it is more than enough. 🌸
